Shi‘i Studies in Focus

Shi‘i Studies in Focus is a ground-breaking video series created by scholars from the Shi‘i Studies Unit at the Institute of Ismaili Studies, and Harvard Divinity School. It consists of five video discussions of scholars from around the world on the past, present, and future of the field of Shi‘i Studies.

The project was created and all the videos were filmed before I arrived at the Institute of Ismaili Studies. My task then was to take the footage that I was given and turn it into a cohesive series.

Branding

I was tasked to create a brand for the series that evokes the Shi‘i Heritage Series, published by the Institute of Ismaili Studies. I also wanted to frame the recordings in a way that made them look more intentional than a simple Zoom recording. I used my experience as a Twitch streamer to create overlays and branding to bring the series together. The assets I created for this series were then repurposed for other IIS video series such as Islamic History and Thought.

Short Videos

In addition to the full episodes, I also created short, insightful video clips to share on social media to raise awareness and gain interest in key talking points.
